Danielle Frei is SBC’s HR Manager. Recruiting for our ever-growing team and knowing our staff inside-out are a few of her many talents…

Tell us a bit about yourself Danielle?

I’m originally from Islington, but my family moved to Essex in the late 80’s. I have 3 brothers and confess to being a tom boy at heart. I started working in hospitality in my late teens and this is where my love for people blossomed. When I was 20 I met my now husband, Steve. We married in 2007 and have such a lovely life together, I truly am blessed. We moved to Buckinghamshire in 2003 and this is when I changed my career direction towards HR and have never looked back. I studied part time for my Masters whilst working as a HR assistant and progressed my career from there.  I’m a real foodie (and drinkie too!) and if I’m not out eating I’m usually cooking up a storm at home.

What’s your area of expertise?

People. I have always been a people person.

Do you have a personal skincare tip to share?

Hydration. Drinking water keeps your skin moist, supple, and elastic, thus lessening your risk of developing dry issues like dermatitis & ageing skin.

Do you have a real beauty no-no or bug bear?

The main one is too much make up, I’m not sure what the appeal is to look like a cartoon.

What goes on in your average day at Pevonia?

Every day is different to the last. I am lucky that my role connects me to every single person within the business. I undertake a multitude of tasks, including recruiting, training and strategic HR projects.

Desert Island Disc?

This is a tough one, I love music and enjoy a wide variety, but if I had to choose one it would be a compilation of Motown

Last meal?

Smoked Haddock filet with asparagus, parmesan & pea risotto and grilled tomatoes.

Pevonia is based in Suffolk, what is your favourite Suffolk spot?

Being an Essex girl, Suffolk is new territory for me, but we recently visited Needham Lake which was lovely.

Describe your perfect day?

I should say something like a walk along the beach with my Steve eating fish and chips out the wrapper with the water lapping at our feet (which is something I enjoy.) But, to be honest, my perfect day is a write off. I love a good box set or movie marathon, so my perfect day would be vegging out on the sofa, eating lots of yummy food and ploughing through a good series or two.
