Amy Gilson is Pevonia’s fabulous training co-ordinator. Always cracking jokes and with her witty banter, she should have possibly been a stand up comedienne! Organising all of Pevonia’s training and assisting our girls on the road, along with the salons & spas, Amy’s one organised lady…

Tell us a bit about yourself Amy?

I grew up in Suffolk and have lived here for the majority of my life with the odd long vacation. When I left school, I went on to study media, photography and IT, followed by 3 years at Portsmouth University studying TV and Film Production.

I graduated in 2015 and with this degree behind me I went off to America for 4 months to travel and work in a summer camp as a video specialist. I spent each day filming every aspect of the children’s and staffs day in order to create a video each week for everyone to look back on. I spent 2 and a half months working at this camp, (where bacon was banned, a staple part of anyone diet!) the camp backed onto a huge lake where we could utilise the speed boats and other bits of equipment they had there.

After the camp had come to an end I spent some time in Milwaukee before going to visit the Grand Canyon, New Orleans, Chicago, Niagara Falls and New York City.

When I returned home I began looking for a job, this is where I found Pevonia!

What’s your area of expertise?

I’ve always studied creative subjects in particular, photography, media, IT and TV & Film production. The latter was at degree level so producing and editing videos is something I’m…...ok at. I’m sure it’s not too long now until my good friend Steve Spielberg comes knocking on my door and wants some help.

Do you have a personal beauty tip to share?

What is your favourite Pevonia product?

Try the Spa at Home Shower Gel, funnily enough, it’s like having a Spa at home!

Do you have a real beauty no-no or bug bear?

The monobrow annoys me, and the scouse brow. Eyebrows in general actually. Just keep them neat and tidy, no funny business.

What goes on in your average day at Pevonia?

I am the training co-ordinator at head office. I look after the training side of things whether it be helping the girls on the road or offering assistance to spa’s/salons where needed. I will organise all training material for upcoming courses that I know are happening or send out material that the girls request. I also work on keeping the material up to date and make changes where necessary.

Desert Island Disc?

Probably a ‘songs of praise audiobook’. If for whatever reason that wasn’t available I’d go for Queen B (Beyonce).

Last meal?

Roast dinner all day long with every single possible trimming and at least 10 Yorkshire puddings. If I have room left after that I’d hit up the sticky toffee pudding.

What is your favourite spot/place to visit?

London! I’m a big fan of the capital, my girl queen Lizzie lives there. There’s so much to do in London and it’s easy to get just about anywhere you want. The food is pretty good too, you can eat pretty much anything you want at some sort of strange café.

Describe your perfect day?

Either sat in a room full of dogs OR skiing all day followed by après ski.
